Human Traffic Watch

This blog was created to keep track of all the current, important news available about human trafficking. The views and/or biases of those writing each article are not necessarily my personal views.

The blog was originally created on Tumblr.

I believe that slavery/human trafficking/exploitation (whatever word you use) is one of the greatest tragedies against human rights that this world has ever seen. I encourage anyone who stumbles onto this site to spend even ten minutes trying to educate themselves (see my resources page for some quick and amazing places to start your research).

I do not post pornography, vulgar, or overly-opinionated articles or content to my blog. I will block spam, bots, or exploitative accounts that comment/like my posts. I generally choose the pieces of each article that I believe are most compelling or most likely to get my readers to click through to the main article. Although some things I post are heartbreaking or uncomfortable to digest, I will not censor my content to make this issue easier to compartmentalize.

“I will be as harsh as truth, and uncompromising as justice… I am in earnest, I will not equivocate, I will not excuse, I will not retreat a single inch, and I will be heard.”   – William Lloyd Garrison, abolitionist

  1. Love your blog! I like that fact that you have included resources for your followers to take action.

I wanted to let you know about a feature film we’re producing – Lessons from Violet. It will be the first romantic comedy about human trafficking. As the movie Life is Beautiful got us to laugh while revealing the reality of the holocaust we are aiming to do the same with the issue of human trafficking. The awards given to our screenplay seem to indicate that we’re headed in the right direction.

Here’s an article about it from Yahoo News:

Let me know if you’d like more info about it or if you’d like to feature it on your blog. We’re in the midst of a Kickstarter campaign to build a team around Lessons from Violet:

I look forward to your thoughts!

  3. I nominated this blog for the 2012 blog of the year award. You are more than deserving. I love what you’re doing here. I don’t really know much about the award, but felt this would give you more exposure and spread the important info you’re sharing even further into the world. You can find details about the award and what to do next on my December 12th post. Blessings!

    • Wow. Thank you so much. I started this blog with no ambitions other than spreading awareness, but it means a lot to me to know that it’s working. I really appreciate your support – my heart is thankful.
