FRESH from a grand final with Ormond Amateur Football Club Daniel Seehusen is heading off on a cross-country bike ride through South-East Asia.

Trying to raise awareness of the scourge of child trafficking, Mr Seehusen and his friend John Clark will lead a cycle tour from Vietnam’s capital Ho Chi Minh City to Phnom Penh in Cambodia.

The duo has already enlisted a motley crew of 22 from a French chef to an ex-Carlton footballer to join them on their 800km jaunt to help their not-for-profit Ride2Rescue.

“Child trafficking is extremely prevalent in Cambodia and a lot of the kids end up in Vietnam, so the trip is very much related to the areas where we’re going,” Mr Seehusen said.

As they visit different parts of the two countries they will stop by some of the areas and schools where Child Wise has programs running to prevent child trafficking.

“Now that we’ve got some followers we’re enjoying it. It’s an adventure and sightseeing while raising money for a good cause, so that’s a good combination.”
