U.S. State Department Names Guam as a Source and Transit Location for Forced Labor and Sex Trafficking

The U.S. State Department’s 2013 “Trafficking in Persons Report”  names Guam as “a source and transit location for men, women, and children subjected to forced labor and sex trafficking.”
And as an example, the report refers specifically to the conviction of  Song Ja Cha in the forced prostitution that occurred at the Blue House Lounge.
“During the reporting period, a defendant was sentenced in federal court to life imprisonment on 20 counts, including sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion and sex trafficking of a minor for recruiting and defrauding nine Chuukese women and one girl and forcing them to engage in commercial sex acts.”
