Challenge Slavery: Enter USAID’s Tech Contest

In Awareness, Human Trafficking on December 24, 2012 at 1:06 pm

The Tech Contest is a call to college and university students within and outside the United States to develop creative technology solutions to prevent human trafficking, rescue victims, and provide assistance to survivors. Traffickers use technology, such as cell phones and social networking sites, to ensnare their victims. However, we are challenging you to help us use technology for positive purposes to combat trafficking in developing countries.

The contest will be accepting submissions from November 28, 2012 to January 8, 2013, midnight EST (USA).

  • One 1st place prize of $5,000 will be given to the top entry and one or more runner-up prizes will be awarded in the amount of $2,500.

In addition, winners will be invited to showcase and discuss their winning ideas with USAID personnel and their implementing and donor partners.
