About 2 million children were adversely affected by Typhoon Bopha.UNICEF assessment teams report many distressed adults simply stare blankly, unable to assist with recovery efforts and leaving children to fend for themselves.

World Vision staff report, many children are roaming the streets begging for food.

Aaron Aspi, a World Vision communications specialist in the Philippines, says the organization is monitoring the situation closely.

“We’re really keeping a close watch as there are concerns that children might be exploited in exchange for food and other necessities,” he says.
