Colorado trafficking ringleaders sentenced

In Forced Prostitution, Human Trafficking, Sex Trafficking on October 22, 2012 at 2:26 pm

Three men at the helm of a Front Range sex-trafficking ring that prostituted underaged teens and sold drugs will spend between four years on highly supervised sex-offender probation and four years in prison.

A fourth, Chad Gow, has pleaded guilty but has not been sentenced.

Two of the victims told Jefferson County District Court Judge Tamara Russell on Tuesday that they’d been plied with drugs and threatened with violence as their pimps arranged “dates” for them in various Colorado cities.

One of the young women called the 90-day jail sentence and four years of sex-offender probation given to one ringleader, Bryan Burns, 21, “ridiculous.”

“Yeah,” her best friend and fellow victim chimed in outside the courthouse. “For everything we had to go through, that’s nothing. We have to go through it for the rest of our lives.”
